 Billionth Barrel Monument, Brunei
The Billionth Barrel Monument is a monument in the town of Seria in Brunei. It was built to commemorate the one billionth barrel of cruide oil that was pumped from the Seria Field in 1991.
The Billionth Barrel Monument is located close to Seria-1, the first commercially successful oil well which was drilled in 1929. It was Seria-1 that ushered in the petroleum age for Brunei, bringing wealth and financial stability to the country.
