Geography of Cambodia

UNESCO World Heritage Sites  Compare Hotel Room Rates from different Booking Sites

Cambodia's climate is determined by two distinct seasons: the wet and the dry. Both tend to be rather extreme. The impact on the daily life of the Khmers is especially pronounced around the Tonle Sap, as it swells to six times its size during the wet season.

When is the best time to visit Cambodia? Obviously, it's when the temperature isn't at its highest while the number of rainy days and rainfall are the lowest. If you're going to Siem Reap, it would be advisable to avoid the months of July to October (see the chart below), as it may get very wet. In my opinion, the end of the year is the best time to visit Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, as the weather is not at its hottest (although still quite hot), while the rainfall is at the minimum.
