Baoguo Si Monastery is a temple complex built on the slopes near the foot of Emeishan, in Sichuan Province, China. Constructed in the 16th Century, Baoguo Si is the largest and most impressive temple in the Emeishan area. The tranquil monastery comprises four halls, built onee above the other. The halls house various artefacts, calligraphy and paintings.

In front of the temple gate is a pair of stone lions carved in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). They are said to protect the temple as well as Emeishan. A large engraved stele hangs above the gate with the name of the temple on it which was written by the Emperor Kangxi (1654-1722) of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).

Baoguo Si was one of the sights visited by members of AsiaExplorers when we were doing a tour of Sichuan province.
