The Germany Pavilion at Expo 2010




The Germany Pavilion at Expo 2010 carries the theme Balancity. The theme supports Germany's concept of originality and technology, with urban scenes from the country. The pavilion comprises a structure wrapped in silver membrane with four exhibition booths that seem to hover.

The centrepiece of the Germany Pavilion is a cone-shaped structure housing a revolving metal sphere. The sphere is three meters in diameters and covered with LEDs that will react to noise and movement from the spectators.

Accompanied by narration from two virtual narrators, Jens and Yan Yan, visitors are guided through the pavilion. The storyline follows that encounter between Jens, a student from a German university with Yan Yan, a university student from China.
