The Jiuzhaigou Tiger Lake (Laohu Hai) is a lake that continues from Rhinoceros Lake, in a series of ribbon lakes that together form the greater Shuzheng Lake. These lakes were carved by glacier in the Jiuzhaigou Valley. Situated slightly lower than Rhinoceros Lake, Tiger Lake has an elevation of 2298 meters, and is located directly above Shuzheng Waterfall.

The distance from Rhinoceros Lake to Shu Zheng Falls is sufficiently short for visitors to visit these three related sights on foot. How does the Tiger Lake get its name? The inverted image of the mountains on the lake looks like the tiger's stripes, the Shuzheng waterfall is like the tiger's head, while the sound of the waterfall is like the tiger's roar.
