About Site of the First National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party
The First National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party took place on 23 July, 1921, is a house in the French Concession, in Shanghai, China. There were at least 12 participants including Mao Zedong. Somehow the police found out about the meeting, and the delegates had to evaluate hurriedly. They escaped to a boat on Lake Nan.
The house has a reconstruction of the meeting that took place. It displays the original chairs and teacups used by the delegates, and is part of the history of the Chinese Communist Party.
How to reach the house of the First National Congress
The house is located at 374 Huangpu Nan Lu. Take Line 1 of the Shanghai Metro to the Huangpi South Road subway station. Walk south on Huangpi South Road and look for No. 374.
