Hokkaido Tour 9 Days 8 Nights


 





Introduction
The Hokkaido Tour of 9 days 8 nights is a tour by Cathay Pacific Airways. It departs from Penang to Hokkaido, Japan, with a visit to Hong Kong. Visitors on the Hokkaido Tour will get to enjoy some of the most scenic sights on the island. Destinations on this tour includes Noboribestu, Hakodate, Lake Toya, Sapporo, Otaru, Sounkyo Hot Springs and Asahikawa.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Penang-Hong Kong
Assemble at Penang International Airport for flight to Hong Kong. Upon arrival, visit the Sik Sik Yuen Wong Tai Sin Temple. Go to Victoria Peak (Mid-Level) looking over Victoria Harbour and Kowloon. Next proceed to factory to observe the process of making jewellery. After dinner, transfer back to hotel.

Day 2: Hong Kong-Hokkaido
Morning proceed to airport for flight to Hokkaido. Upon arrival at Chitose Airport, meet and transfer for hotel check in.

Day 3: Noboribestu/Hakodate
After breakfast, visit Noboribestu "Jigokudani", part of an old crater. Columns of steam are incessantly raised from the numerous fissures in the rocks and hot water bubbles out of many places. Next, visit the Noboribetsu Bear Park at the top of the mountain accessed by ropeway. After this, visit Noboribetsu Nixe Marine Park, housed in a reproduction Scandinavian-style house. Nixe Castle, the Ocean Museum is a must see. The marine world shows by dolphines, sea lions and penguin parade are also popular. Then proceed to Hakodate to visit Mount Hakodate. You will take the ropeway to the summit, which is famous for its splended night scenes of the city.

Day 4: Hakodate/Seaweed Museum/Onuma Park/Lake Toya
After breakfast, visit the "Asachi" which serves as the citizen's kitchen. Next, do a photo stop at the Motomachi Roman Catholic Church and Japan's first Greek Orthodox Church. Next visit the Goryokaku Park and Seaweed Museum. Continue to Onuma Quasi-National Park.

Day 5: Lake Toya/Sapporo
After breakfast, transfer to Hokkaido's largest city, Sapporo, to visit Odori Park, decorated with flowers all year round. Next is Sapporo's symbol, the Clock Tower Building built in 1878 as the drill hall for Sapporo Cultural College. Follow on to the Former Hokkaido Government Building, built in 1888. Next visit Asahi Beer Factory. End the day by visiting Susukino, a night spot and the famous Ramen Street.

Day 6: Sapporo/Otaru/Sounkyo Hot Spring
After breakfast, proceed to Otaru City, a lively port city. Now it is known as a canal and glasswork city. The Otaru Canal is the symbol of the commercial city. Otaru once prospered as Hokkaido's economic hub. Gaslights and stone warehouses alone the canal produce an impressive cityscape. Visit Kitaichi Glass and Otaru Music Box Factory. Continue to Daisetuzan National Park. Stay at Sounkyo Hot Spring, where you can relax in the bosom of nature!

Day 7: Sounkyo/Asahikawa/Sapporo
After breakfast, visit Sounkyo Gorge, flanked on both sides by 150m high perpendicular cliffs with columnar joints. It is the greatest of the many gorges in the Daisetsu Mountains, and extends 20 km. Have a photo session at Ryunsei-no-taki Falls and Gingano-taxi Falls. Next, head to Asahikawa to visit Otokayam Sake Factory to see how Japanese sake is made. Proceed to Sapporo, where you may do some shopping at the Tanukikoji Underground Shopping Mall.

Day 8: Sapporo-Hong Kong
After breakfast, visit Chitose Outlet Factory for shopping. Transfer to airport for your flight to Hong Kong. Upon arrival, transfer to hotel.

Day 9: Hong Kong-Penang
After breakfast, transfer to airport for your flight back to Penang.
