East Rail Line is one of the ten railway lines of the Hong Kong Mass Transit Railway system. This is one of the oldest line that began as the Kowloon-Canton Railway (KCR) built by the British in 1910. It was known as the KCR British Section between 1910 to 1996, and then as the KCR East Rail from 1996 to 2007, when the Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation merged with the MTR Corporation.
The East Rail Line has 14 stations beginning with Hung Hom station in Kowloon and ending at Lo Wu or Lok Ma Chau stations. These are station at the boundary with China. It is the railway line that continues to Guangzhou, Shanghai and Beijing.
