West Rail Line is one of the ten MTR lines in Hong Kong. One of the newer rail lines, it began operations on 20 December, 2003. Although its service resembles that of the subway, its line was built to commuter railway station, with the intention that it may accommodate other types of trains in the future.

The West Rail Line was originally called KCR West Rail, as it was built by the Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation prior to its merger with the MTR Corporation. The line has 12 stations beginning with Hung Hom station and ending with the Tuen Mun station.
