As you explore the grounds of Humayun's tomb in Delhi, you will come upon an impressive square tomb with a double-dome on the southeast. This tomb is believed to be built in the 16th Century. I am documenting it for AsiaExplorers as one of the heritage sites around Delhi. I visited it on my free day at the end of the AsiaExplorers tour of northern India.
It is not quite known who is buried inside it, although it is usually referred to as Barber's tomb. There are two graves inside it inscribed with verses from the Quran. One of the graves is inscribed with the figure 999, which may stand for the 'Hijra' year corresponding to 1590-91.
Within Barber's Tomb are the ornamental cenotaph of one male and one female. The water channels around the tomb are quite recent, added only around 1905-1909.
