Budget Hotels in India are plentiful. You can find them in all the major cities such as Delhi and Mumbai as well as smaller towns. They are also quite numerous in major tourist destinations such as Varanasi. Such hotels offer basic accommodation, and are usually located at a convenient spot, either near the bus or railway station, or close to tourist attractions, such as near the ghats of Varanasi.
If you have the contact of these establishments, you can email them to do your reservations directly. Alternatively, you can look for budget hotels and hostels online, where reservations can be made by paying a deposit of 10% of the full price of the room. There should be no additional charge. When staying in a budget hotel, expect that the accommodation will be free from frills, if not spartan. Many establishments are not air conditioned. The majority of budget hotels do not offer meals, so much the better.
