The Digambara Jain Temple is located to the southwest of the Dhamekh Stupa. This Jain temple was built in 1824. According to belief, this is where Shreyanshnath, the 11th Jain tirthankara, was born. Within the Digambara Jain Temple are frescoes depicting the life of Mahavir, the founder of the present day Jain religion.

The Digambara Jain Temple provided very good views of the Dhamekh Stupa. The caretaker of the temple was gracious is showing me where I can get a good view of the stupa.
I visited the Digambara Jain Temple with a small group of AsiaExplorers members when we were Varanasi, and we made a day-trip here.
