The Khas Mahal are royal apartments with a watercourse running through it - called the "Stream of Paradise". Within the Khas Mahal is the emperor's sleeping chamber, Khwabgah, his prayer room, Tasbih Khana and sitting room, Baithak. Now that the Yamuna river has changed its course, the Khas Mahal overlooked a large open ground where the river used to be.
