Kesawan Square is the place to enjoy al fresco dining, Medan style. In the day time, it is Jalan Ahmad Yani, one of Medan's main thoroughfare. But when the sun sets, Jalan Ahmad Yani is closed to traffic, and transformed into Kesawan Square, a food court selling a variety of local fare.

One of the most prominent buildings in Kesawan Square is the home of one of the most prominent person in Medan, the late Tjong A Fie. I visited Kesawan Square with some members of AsiaExplorers and am documenting it here for your information.
