Nusa Dua, on the western coast of the Batu Badung peninsula, is characterised by stretches of white sandy beaches. This is where you find the biggest concentration of five-star accommodation in Bali. The upscale image of Nusa Dua is no coincidence. Indeed the Indonesian government launched effort to develop Nusa Dua for upmarket tourists. Today, sterile Nusa Dua appears like a world apart from the rest of Bali. It is possible to remain in one of these luxurious retreats and never venture out to explore the real Bali, which many a visitor regretfully do.

The name Nusa Dua means two islands, and it refers to two near shore islands that are connected to the mainland during low tide. Indeed when the tide is low, you can explore the seabed here.
