Sun Plaza Medan is a big, new upmarket shopping centre in the central city of Medan. Opened in 2004, it is touted as the largest mall in Medan. Sun Plaza's two main anchor tenants are the Japanese retailer Sogo, and a hypermarket, called simply Hypermarket. Other upmarket brands housed here are Starbucks and Mango, to name two.

Sun Plaza Medan has a good Factory Outlet store from where I got a pair of Adidas for a very reasonable price. While I was in Medan, I stayed at the Danau Toba Hotel, one of the biggest hotels in the middle of town. It is just within walking distance from Sun Plaza.
