Katsura Imperial Villa is an exquisitely designed villa located in Katsura, Nishikyo-ku, Kyoto. It is celebrated for its flawless attention to detail, particularly in incorporating the surrounding landscape into the design.

Katsura Imperial Villa was built by the imperial prince Hachijo no Miya Toshihito in 1620. It was added upon later by his son Toshitada. The villa is surrounded by a sumptously laid-out garden, with the paths and stepping stones carefully laid so as to control the stroller's line of sight, providing a breathtaking visual experience.

Visitors who appreciate Japanese garden design will greatly enjoy a tour of Katsura Imperial Villa, stopping at various points such as the Shoka-tei teahouse at the highest part of the garden, and the Shoi-ken teahouse, and returning to the main hall.
