Narita City is a small quiet city located under the bustle of Narita International Airport, the main international airport for Tokyo. The city of 120,000 people is located in Chiba Prefecture was incorporated in 1889 as a town, and granted city status in 1954.
The main tourist attraction in Narita City is the Narita-san Shinsho-ji Temple, an esoteric Shingon-sect temple founded in AD 940. The temple is dedicated to Fudo Myo-o, the deity of immovable wisdom. The streets around Narita-san temple are lined with traditional shops selling snacks and souvenir gifts. Some 12 million visitors throng the temple a year.

You can take the Keisei Line commuter train to reach Narita City. The trains depart from Keisei Ueno and Nippori stations every 20 minutes, and arrive at the Keisei Narita station about an hour later. The fare is ¥810.
