Shin-Yakushi-ji Temple is a Buddhist temple of the Kegon sect in Nara, Japan. As with many of the temples in Nara, it is home to several cultural assets regarded as National Treasures.

As with the Yakushi-ji Temple, the patron deity of the Shin-Yakushi-ji Temple was the Buddha of Healing. The Shin-Yakushi-ji Temple was founded in AD 747 by Empress Komyo, to help her husband, Emperor Shomu, recover from an eye ailment. At that time, it was known as Koyaku-ji. Many of the buildings that you see today dates from the Kamakura period, as the majority of the original buildings have been lost. Only the main hall, also called Hondo or Kondo, is from the 8th century, but even then, have been rebuilt.

Within the Main Hall are the statues of Yakushi Nyorai, also known as the Buddha of Healing in Mahayana Buddhism. He is accompanied by his attendants Nikko Bosatsu (Suryaprabha Bodhisattva) and Gakko Bosatsu (Candraprabha Bodhisattva). Also enshrined in the main hall are the statues of the Twelve Heavenly Generals.
