The Shinjuku Line (S) 新宿線 is a subway line off the Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Transportation. It covers the downtown part of Tokyo Metropolis. Opened in 1978, Shinjuku Line has 21 stations with the termini being Shinjuku Subway Station and Motoyawata Subway Station. The entire line is 23.5 km (14.6 mi) and the trains move at a speed of 75 kph (47 mph).
