  Toshodai-ji Temple, Nara
Toshodai-ji Temple is a Buddhist temple of the Ritsu sect in Nara, Japan. It is one of the Historic Monuments of Ancient Nara that was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Toshodai-ji was founded in AD 759 by a blind Chinese sage and priest called Ganjin. The main hall of the temple, called the Classical Golden Hall, is a National Treasure of Japan. It is considered the archetype of the "classical style", and is the original that is still standing.
