Yurakucho (有楽町), Tokyo

Yurakucho (有楽町, map) is a neighbourhood in Chiyoda, Tokyo, between Ginza and Hibiya Park. It is noted for its many Japanese-style bars called izakaya which caters to the office workers in the area. The izakaya is noted for their red lantarns in front. Yurakucho is a favorite watering hole for businessman, drawn by its izakaya and yakitori restaurants and proximity to Tokyo Station.
How to go to Yurakucho
Take the Yurakucho Line (Y-18) to the Yurakucho Subway Station.

What to see in Yurakucho
- DN Tower 21
Historic office building that incorporates the former Dai-Ichi Seimei Building, where Douglas MacArthur had his headquarters during the Allied occupation of Japan. The building today houses the Dai-ichi Mutual Life Insurance Company.
- Tokyo International Forum
An attraction in itself, this massive cutting-edge structure holds exhibits and conventions, but for casual tourists, it's the architecture that is the most interesting here.
- Yurakucho Center
A complex of retail outlets and performance halls.
