Exploring the Temples of Luang Prabang
Luang Prabang has one of the highest concentrations of Buddhist temples in any country of Southeast Asia. Crammed within the tongue of land between the Mekong River and the Nam Khan River are dozens of temples, the majority of which are within walking distance.
Due to the well preserved nature of these temples, Luang Prabang was recognised as a Unesco World Heritage Site. Major restoration is ongoing so that heritage enthusiasts can appreciate the beauty of these temples. I would encourage you to visit Luang Prabang as a notesworthy destination.
I spent a few days in Luang Prabang just to document as most of the major temples there. The result is surely one of the most comprehensive listing of Luang Prabang temples on the web. Please click on any of the thumbnails to access the page, for more detailed explanation. If you have visited Luang Prabang before, and have additional details about the temples, please add a comment or two at the Comment section of this page. Thanks for visiting.
