Wat Chom Phet Travel Information
Wat Chom Phet is a small, rather dilapidated monastery, on the opposite bank of the Mekong River from Luang Prabang. No, I did not visit this monastery in person, but only shot it from the other side of the river using telephoto lens. It seems too much trouble to find a boat to take me across the river just to visit this rather forlorn wat.
There are 100 steep steps that leads to Wat Chom Phet. I am not sure when it was built, but most likely in the 18th century. At the time of writing, this wat appears surrounded by the forest and left to the elements. Nevertheless it looks quite picturesque against the banks of the Mekong.
