Wat Paa Khaa Travel Information
Wat Paa Khaa is a temple that is in complete ruin in Luang Prabang. At least, that's how it was when I visited. It is located on the eastern bank of the Nam Khan river, and I had to search hard for it. My tuk tuk driver also had to stop here and there to ask for directions. Hence it is not an easy temple to locate, ruined or otherwise.
There were a few novice monks at Wat Paa Khaa. I suppose there would be a small monastery or teaching school here as well. The boys were playing with a pet monkey which proceeded to climb onto our tuk tuk and had some fun with our tuk tuk driver. I have no indication whether a new sim will be built to replaced the ruins. Perhaps I shall find out in a future visit. In the meantime, language barrier had effectively prevented me from gathering more details from the young monks.
If you're going to Luang Prabang, you'd be glad to know that the town is quite small. You can go to most places on foot if you want to. Otherwise, you can also catch a tuk tuk to take you around. As for accommodation, they range from very simple, basic beds to boutique hotels. You can visit the Luang Prabang Hotels guide for a list of budget accommodation.

How to go to Wat Paa Khaa
Wat Paa Khaa is located on the eastern bank of the Nam Khan River, on the outskirts of Luang Prabang. I must say that it is difficult to find. If you are determined to go there, find a good map and get a tuk tuk to take you.
