The Historic Archives is a heritage building along Avenida do Conselheiro Ferreira de Almeida in Macau. The building was a mansion built in the colonial style. The Government of Macau embarked on its restoration in the early 1980's. It won the Pacific Area Travel Association Heritage Award for restoration in 1982.
The Historic Archives holds documents pertaining to Portuguese exploration of the Far East as well Macau's relationship with Europe and neighbouring countries are kept. The archive holds letters, books and precious documents. Many of the most valuable iems have been put on microfilm. There are in total 7,500 items from as early as 1587 to 1786.
Getting there
Bus 2, 5, 7, 8, 9, 9A, 12, 16, 19, 22, 25 and 28C pass through Avenida do Conselheiro Ferreira de Almeida.
