 Macau Fisherman's Wharf, Macau
|
Macau Fisherman's Wharf is the first theme park to be built in Macau. It is located in the Outer Harbour area on the east side of the Macau Peninsula, a precinct earmarked for recreational purposes.
The Macau Fisherman's Wharf complex opened on 31 December, 2006, with 150 stores and restaurants. The theme deco recreates famous seaports around the world including Cape Town, Amsterdam and Venice.
Among the attractions already open or under construction at the Macau Fisherman's Wharf includes the Tang Dynasty Fortress; Vulcania, a 40-meter volcano that "erupts" on cue every evening, spewing a "River of Fire"; Aladdin's Fort, fun rides styled as a middle-eastern fortification; Aqua Romanis, a Roman-styled mall; and Roman Amphitheatre, an outdoor performance venue with a 2000-seat capacity, styled as the Colosseum.
