Igreja de São Lourenço
St Lawrence's Church, or Igreja de São Lourenço, is one of the most impressive churches in Macau. Nevertheless it had a humble beginning way back in the 1560's, when it was just a wooden structure. The brick building was first built in 1801-3, and was renovated throughout the 19th century. St Lawrence's Church as twin towers with Chinese tile roof. The interior of the church is magnificently ornamented, with ceiling painted turquoise, white and gold beams, and exquisite chandeliars. A lovely garden with palm trees surround the church building.
St Lawrence's Church is open every day, from 10:00am to 6:00pm, except Mondays, from 1:00pm to 2:00pm.
