 A Famosa Resort, Malacca
A Famosa Resort is a resort in Simpang Ampat, Alor Gajah District, Malacca. The resort comprises a water theme park, a zoo, a golf course, a cowboy town, and recreational flying activities.
The water theme park occupies an area of 20 acres. It has slides, pools and theme slides such as the Seven-Storey-High Speed Slide, the Wave Pool with stimulated waves, and the Lazy Pool with slow-flowing waters. The zoo, called Animal World, covers 120 acres of the resort. It is home to 150 different species of animals. There is a petting zoo where visitors can get close to rabbits, ponies and camels. There is also a chicken farm housing many rare species of chicken. The Monkey Island is home to several different species of monkeys including lemurs, gibbons, macaques and tamarinds.
The A Famosa Golf Resort is an adjoining golf course which is part of the resort. The Cowboy Town provides period-theme entertainment in a surrounding of Western-style buildings. Visitors are entertained with dances, country songs and stunts. At the A Famosa Flying Club, enthusiasts have a chance to fly in the microlight, catching a view of Malacca from the sky.
There are several restaurants at A Famosa Resort including Huang Di Chinese Restaurant, The Ranch Steak House, Golfer's Terrace, Lake View Restaurant, Side Walk Cafe, Sunshine Cafe, and Bamboo Steak House. Those who wish to overnight at the resort can stay at the A Famosa Resort Hotel
