The Alhambra of Taman Tamadun Islam, Kuala Terengganu, is a replica of an Islamic monument in Andalusia, Spain. It was built by the Moorish rulers around the mid 14th century, when area was under the Emirate of Granade in Al-Andalus. The last Moorish emirs constructed the palaces at Alhambra while its courts were built during the Nasrid Dynasty. After Alhambra was reconquered by the Catholic monarchs in 1492, a section of it was used by the Chritian rulers. Charles V, the Holy Roman Emperor, built his palace within the Nasrid fortifications in 1527.

Over time, Alhambra fell into disrepair. It was only rediscovered in the 19th century by European scholars and travelers. Now restored, it is one of the biggest tourist attractions in Spain.
