About Angklung
Angklung is a Malay musical instrument. It is said to have originated in Indonesia, where it has been played in the Sunda islands since ancient times. The instrument is made from bamboo tubes that are attached to a bamboo frame. The tubes are carved to resonate a pitch when it is struck. Each angklung is able to play just one note, and at least three or more angklung performers are needed to play the complete melody. To produce the musical note, the angklung is held with one hand while the other hand shakes the instrument vigorously.
