Ayer Tawar is a small town in Manjung district, Perak. It has a population of about 30,000. Ayer Tawar is located between Bota and Sitiawan on the Ipoh-Lumut Highway (Route 5), about 60 km from Ipoh. The two comprises two halves, the Old Town and the New Town. Due to redevelopment, the properties at Old Town are now newer than at New Town.

Most of the people of Ayer Tawar are ethnic Chinese speaking the Fuzhou dialect. It is very much a rural town where the people continue to earn a living working in the plantation, paddy fields or fruit farms.
