The Badshahi Mosque of Taman Tamadun Islam, Kuala Terengganu, is a replica of an Islamic monument in Pakistan, which stands today as the fifth biggest mosques in the world behind Masjid al-Haram of Mecca, Masjid al-Nabawi of Medina, Hassan II Mosque of Casablanca and Faisal Mosque of Islamabad.

The Badshahi Mosque in Pakistan was build on the orders of the sixth Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb, infamous for imprisoning his father Shah Jahan, who built the Taj Mahal. Construction was supervised by Fidai Khan Koka, a foster brother to Aurangzeb. Entrance to the mosque is via a magnificent gateway.
