Bahau is a town in Negri Sembilan. It is the main town in the district of Jempol. The town is predominantly Chinese in character. Chinese settlers established Bahau in the early 20th century to open up rubber and oil palm plantations.
Until the arrival of Chinese settlers, the place was known as Denai Penarikan, as it is within the vicinity of the ancient Jalan Penarikan.
The town of Bahau derives its income mostly from the timber industry, along with other commodity crops such as palm oil and rubber.
