 Bangunan Jam Besar Alor Setar
Bangunan Jam Besar, or the Big Clock Building, is a clocktower in the centre of Alor Star, Kedah. It was erected for the purpose of summoning Muslims to prayer. In the olden days, the clock would ring when it was prayer time. This prompted the beating of gongs in the Balai Nobat across the road.
The Bangunan Jam Besar was built around the same time as the Masjid Zahir. I documented it for AsiaExplorers as one of the sights worth checking out when Alor Star.

How to go to Bangunan Jam Besar
Bangunan Jam Besar is located along Jalan Pekan Melayu, across the road from Balai Nobat, in the middle of the city of Alor Star.
