Batang Kali is a small town Hulu Selangor, in the northern part of Selangor state. The town is between Rasa to the north and Serendah to the south along Federal Route 1, and is one of the routes along the way to Genting Highlands.

Batang Kali is notorious for the Batang Kali massacre that is claimed to take place on 12 December, 1948. In the incident, British soldiers were alleged to have shot dead 24 villagers from a rubber estate at Sungai Rimoh, Batang Kali, before setting the village on fire. Despite eye witness account from the wives and children of the victim, even until today, the British Government is dragging its feet about conducting a thorough investigation over the incident.
