About Belaga

Belaga is a town in Sarawak. It is the capital of the Belaga District, which covers an area of 19,403 sq km in the Kapit Division. It is located in Hulu Rajang, the upper reaches of the Rajang River, about 120 km from Kapit and 100 km from the South China Sea. The town has a population of 25,300, according to the 2002 estimate.

Today Belaga is regarded as the gateway to Bakun Dam.
