About Beruas Museum
Beruas Museum is a small museum in the town of Beruas, in Manjung District, Perak. The museum is devoted to showcasing artefacts from the obscure Hindu kingdom of Gangga Negara that flourished in the Manjung district from the 2nd century to the 11th century AD, when it was destroyed by an attack by the Chola Kingdom of south India.
Worked on the museum followed a historical study conducted in Beruas in 1991. The museum is housed in a former courthouse and was handed over to the Perak state government in 1995. It was opened to the public in July, 1995.
The Beruas Museum showcases approximately 300 artefacts from the Gangga Negara kingdom which were discovered following the excavation conducted in 1991.
