About the Bisaya
Bisaya is an indigenous tribe of Sabah. They live mostly in the Interior Division, around Beaufort, Sungai Padas and in the Limbang area of Sarawak. They are said to be related to the Kadazan-Dusun.
Today there are about 14,300 Bisaya in Malaysia. They are mostly farmers growing rice as well as vegetable crops such as chilli, maize, cucumber, pumpkins and eggplants. Their main festival is called Babulang, celebrated annually in Batu Danau, near Brunei.
