Bukit Merah Laketown Resort is a resort township beside the 7000-acre Bukit Merah Lake, in Kerian district, Perak. Among the attractions at Bukit Merah Laketown is a theme park, which includes a water park, and eco park, Chairlift, and the Orang Utan Island. The resort gears itself for team building and corporate functions.

The Orang Utan Island is a 35-acre island that is set aside as a sanctuary for orang utan. Located near the opposite bank of the lake, it can only be reached by a 10-minute boat ride from jetty at the Bukit Merah marina. To keep the primates beyond reach of humans, visitors to the Orang Utan Island are funneled through a steel tunnel. Ticket price to the island is RM20 for adults and RM17 for children over 90 cm in height and up to 12 years of age.

The Waterpark occupies 11 acres of Bukit Merah Laketown Resort. It has numerous water-based recreational facilities including the Boomerang, Giant Wet Bubble, Giant Tube rides, activity pool, body slides, and so on. Ticket price to the water park is RM25 for adults and RM21 for children over 90 cm in height and up to 12 years of age. A frequent visitor pass is available for RM100 offering unlimited entry for a year.

The Chairlife is a 600-meter aerial ride over the themepark. Ticket prices are RM6 per ride.

Accommodation at Bukit Merah Laketown Resort is provided by the Kampung Air chalets, the Laketown Hotel, the Suria Service Apartment Hotel and the Laketown Apartment.

Getting there

Exit the North-South Expressway at the Bukit Merah Interchange (Exit 150) and just follow the signage to the resort.
