Sam Poh Temple, dedicated to the Chinese Muslim eunuch and admiral of the Chinese fleet, Zheng He (Cheng Ho), is one of unexpected sights in Cameron Highlands. The Sam Poh Temple is located high above the town of Brinchang. A hill road leads up to the main archway of the temple.

The Sam Poh Temple was built in 1972 and is said to be the 4th largest Buddhist temple in Malaysia (I wasn't told which are the first three). As would be expected, there are statues of the Buddha and other deities within the temple. I am unsure whether one of the huge statues is the one of Zhenghe.
The grounds of the Sam Poh Temple is well kept, and planted with a variety of temperate climate flowering plants such as the cymbidium and rhododendron, both of which would not grow well in the lowlands.
