Cave Temples of Ipoh

There are numerous cave temples in Ipoh. This is due to the abundance of limestone outcrops and karst mountains that dot the Ipoh landscape. Many of these outcrops are home to immense cave systems, a small number of which are occupied by Taoist temples.

The following are some of the most famous cave temples in Ipoh:
  1. Kek Lok Tong
    Cave temple with a massive subterranean passageway.

  2. Ling Sen Tong
    Another cliff-side cave temple in Ipoh.

  3. Nam Thean Tong
    Chinese cave temple founded in 1867.

  4. Perak Tong
    Cave temple on the northern part of Ipoh.

  5. Sam Poh Tong
    Perhaps the most well-known cave temple in Ipoh, founded in 1912.
