Kuala Krai District, or Daerah Kuala Krai, is an administrative district of Kelantan. It is located in the middle of the state surrounded by Jeli District to the west, Tanah Merah District to the northwest, Machang District to the north, Terengganu to the east, and Gua Musang District to the south.
Kuala Krai District is a mountainous district. Some of the tallest mountains in Kelantan are located in this district, including Gunung Ayam (1504 meters), Gunung Baha (1395 meters) and Gunung Stong (1422 meters). Gunung Stong has a 305-meter tall waterfall, believed to be the tallest in Southeast Asia. These mountains are all located near Kampung Dabong, which also has several caves as attraction, among them Gua Gelap, Gua Kris, Gua Pagar and Gua Ikan.
