Damansara is a neighbourhood straddling Kuala Lumpur and Selangor. On the Selangor side, Damansara is one of the subdistricts (called Mukim) within the district of Petaling.

Damansara got its name from the Damansara River which flowed through the area. From what was once plantation land, the area of Damansara has since been converted to residential development. Among the residential estates that have since been developed in this area includes Bandar Sri Damansara, Bandar Utama, Bukit Lanjan, Damansara Damai, Damansara Impian, Damansara Jaya, Damansara Perdana, Damansara Utama, Flora Damansara, Mutiara Damansara, Sunway Damansara, Kota Damansara, Pelangi Damansara, Pelangi Damansara and Ara Damansara.

Getting there

Damansara is not a place with people without his own transport. With your own set of wheels, you can reach Damansara using the Sprint Highway which runs between Bangsar and Damansara Heights, or from Puchong on the Damansara-Puchong Expressway (LDP), Kerinchi Link and Penchala Link.
