The Dayabumi Complex one of the major landmarks of Kuala Lumpur. I explored Dayabumi Complex on a lovely day with cloudless sky and was able to get the above photograph for AsiaExplorers. Dayabumi is located near the National Mosque (Masjid Negara), Old Kuala Lumpur Railway Station and Federal House at Jalan Sultan Hisamuddin.

The Dayabumi Complex building in Kuala Lumpur.

The Dayabumi Complex was built on land that was previously the site of the Malayan Railway workshops and depots from 1900s until 1981. Construction began on January 1982 and completed on February 1984. The Dayabumi Complex is owned by the Urban Development Authority of Malaysia (UDA).

The Dayabumi Complex is one of the first buildings to boast a Malaysian style architecture. The 35-storey Dayabumi is 157 meters high. At the time of its completion, it was regarded as the most expensive building ever built in Malaysia. The gleaming white structure incorporates Arabic elements into the modern high-rise architecture, helping it to blend with the surrounding Moorish and Byzantine architecture. Dayabumi Complex houses government offices, a shopping arcade and has an annex that houses the General Post Office.
