Desaru, Johor

Desaru is a beach resort on the southeast part of Johor. It was developed since the 1970's as a day trip for holiday makers from Singapore and Johor Bahru. It has a few kilometers of golden sand facing the South China Sea. The name Desaru (pronounced day-sah-roo) means "casuarina hamlet", and refers to the casuarina trees along the coast.

Getting there

Take Route 3 to Kota Tinggi, then Route 92 down to Desaru.
