The ELITE Highway is a 60-kilometer (37.3-mile) expressway from the Shah Alam Interchange (Exit 601) to the Nilai North Interchange (Exit 612).

At the Shah Alam Interchange, the ELITE Highway connects with the New Klang Valley Expressway, NKVE, (E1) and the Guthrie Corridor Expressway (E35). The exit from the North-South Expressway to the ELITE Highway here is Exit 103. The exit from the Guthrie Corridor Expressway to the ELITE Highway is called the Bukit Jelutong-NKVE Interchange (Exit 3508).

At the Nilai North Interchange, it connects with the North-South Expressway Southern Route (E2). The exit from the North-South Expressway to the ELITE Highway here is Exit 214.

The name ELITE stands for Ekspresway Lingkaran Tengah, and is part of the North-South Expressway system. Its purpose it to allow smooth traffic flow bypassing Kuala Lumpur. The expressway was built in 1994 and opened in 1996.

Exit No. Interchange

Exit 601

Shah Alam Interchange

This is a closed tolled trumpet interchange. This is where the ELITE Highway connects to the New Klang Valley Expressway. The long flyover that connects the ELITE Highway to the eastern side of the New Klang Valley Expressway is the 2-km Batu Tiga Flyover, the longest on the North-South Expressway system.

The route east (Exit 601C) takes you to the New Klang Valley Expressway (E1), onwards to Subang, Kuala Lumpur and Ipoh.

The route north (Exit 601B) takes you to the Guthrie Corridor Expressway (E35), to Bukit Jelutong, Sungai Buloh and Kuala Selangor.

The route west (Exit 601A) takes you to the New Klang Valley Expressway (E1), onwards Klang and Port Klang.

Exit 602

Ebor Interchange

This is an on-off ramp connecting to the expressway. Coming from the south, you exit the ELITE Highway to Persiaran Jubli Perak, which connects to the Federal Highway in Shah Alam. Similarly, from the Federal Highway, you connect to Persiaran Jubli Perak and then enter the ELITE Highway from the north.

Exit 603

Seafield Interchange

This is a trumpet interchange. You exit the ELITE Highway here to to Shah Alam Expressway (E5). Going east on this expressway takes you to Subang Jaya, Sri Petaling, Cheras and onwards to Kuantan. Going west on this expressway takes you to Klang, Pulau Indah and Kota Kemuning.

USJ Rest Stop

This service area on both directions of the expressway has an Overhead Bridge Restaurant. There is a Caltex petrol station for refueling.

Exit 604

USJ Interchange

This is a trumpet interchange. You exit the ELITE Highway to USJ 17. Head east to the Damansara Puchong Expressway, LDP, (E11) and onwards to Puchong. Head west to Section 26, Section 27 and Section 28 of Shah Alam.

Exit 605

Putra Heights Interchange

This is a trumpet interchange. You exit here to Putra Heights.

Exit 606

Bandar Saujana Putra Interchange

This is a trumpet interchange. You exit here to Bandar Saujana Putra and the Kuala Langai Forest Reserve. The ELITE links to the South Klang Valley Expressway, SKVE, (E26) here - this section of E26 opens on 29 June, 2010. You can enter the ELITE from the SKVE on Exit 2607.

Exit 607

Putrajaya Interchange

This is a trumpet interchange. You exit here to the Putrajaya Link (also E6), which takes you to Lingkaran Putrajaya, onwards to Putrajaya and Cyberjaya. On the way to Putrajaya, you will pass the interchange to the Maju Expressway, MEX, (E20) that connects Kuala Lumpur to Putrajaya, and (presently under plan) eventually to KLIA.

Dengkil Rest Stop

Dengkil Rest and Service Area

You can take a rest here and refuel your car. There's are Caltex and Petronas petrol station on the northbound side of the expressway. On the southbound side is an Esso and a Shell petrol station.

Exit 608

KLIA Interchange

This is a trumpet interchange. You exit here and head south to reach the Kuala Lumpur International Airport, KLIA.

Exit 609

Salak Tinggi Interchange

This is a trumpet interchange, presently under planning. When ready, you will be able to exit here to reach Dengkil and Salak Tinggi.

Exit 611

Bandar Baru Nilai Interchange

This is a trumpet interchange also under planning. When ready, you will be able to exit here to reach Bandar Baru Nilai.

Exit 612

Nilai North Interchange

This closed toll T interchange is the southern end of the ELITE Highway. It connects to the North-South Expressway Southern Route (E2) here. You take Exit 612A to head north to Bangi, Kajang and onwards to Kuala Lumpur. You take Exit 612B to head south to Nilai, Seremban and onwards to Johor Bahru.

You exit the North-South Expressway Southern Route on Exit 214.
