Ipoh has always benefited from stopover traffic from people traveling between Kuala Lumpur and Penang. There are a number of famous eating places in Ipoh that are frequented by the out-of-town people. The folks in Ipoh themselves might turn their nose up on these establishments, calling them pricey and over-commercialized. Nonetheless, they are still crowded every evening.

I am not saying that it is de rigueur to eat at the following places, should you every pass by Ipoh, but it does no harm to know them.
  1. Foh San Restaurant
    Famous Dim Sum Restaurant.

  2. Lou Wong Bean Sprout Chicken
    Famous restaurant specializing in bean sprout chicken.

  3. Ong Kee Bean Sprout Chicken
    Another famous restaurant specializing in bean sprout chicken.
