About Gambus

Gambus is a short-necked lute that feature in Malay traditional music. It originated in Yemen before spreading throughout the Arabian peninsula. Gambus is often used in playing ghazal music. It is also featured in Sabah traditional music. The Gambus has 9 to 12 strings which are plucked.
