Kuala Lumpur has a small but significant population of Hindus. This is reflected in the number of Hindu temples that you can find in and around the city. While most of the time, the Hindus keep a lower profile compared to the Malays and the Chinese, they come out in large numbers during their feast days, the biggest of which being the festival of Thaipusam, which is celebrated on a larger scale in Malaysia than in India itself. The biggest Hindu temple is the one at Batu Caves, which is technically in the state of Selangor, but is usually regarded as part of greater Kuala Lumpur.

On this page I would like to share with you some of the Indian temples that I have described.

  2. Gurdwara Sahib Polis
    The temple of the Sikh police officers.
  3. Sri Mahamariamman Temple
    The oldest Hindu temple in Kuala Lumpur.
